Lobby and Forest Lighting - GoS

Better late than never, here's my work on Gangs of Sherwood!
I was in charge of most of the environment lighting, which is 100% dynamic throughout the whole game and came with its challenges. This project was such an amazing opportunity for me to learn how to work with dynamic lighting and how to optimize it as best as possible, which was completely out of my comfort zone since I had mostly worked with baked lighting until then. Being the main lighting artist for the game also meant I got to work with a variety of environments and lighting scenarios.

Here I got to work on the forest level for the tutorial, which is set during a late sunny afternoon. I tried to keep the mood of the dense part of the forest a bit eery and wanted to give the impression of a humid northern European forest while having a more dreamy sunny mood as we got out of the forest and towards the Sherwood gang secret hideout (the lobby).

This is a team's effort and I want to thank each and everyone who made this project possible!
